James Earns First-Team ABCA All-America Selection

Adding to an ever-burgeoning postseason honors collection, Ashland University senior second baseman Stephen James has been named to the 2015 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America First Team.

James put up one of the top Eagle offensive efforts in recent memory this spring, hitting .398 with 67 runs scored, 86 hits, 18 doubles, five triples, 13 home runs, 54 RBIs, eight stolen bases, a .462 on-base percentage and a .708 slugging percentage.

Last week, James earned second-team National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-America Team and honorable mention Daktronics Baseball NCAA Division II All-America team laurels.

Other honors James has earned this offseason include All-Midwest Region Tournament team, first-team Midwest Region from Daktronics, Inc./Division II Conference Commissioner's Association, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Midwest Region Player of the Year, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year, Capital One Division II Academic All-District 4 and All-GLIAC Tournament team.
