Baseball Team Silences Lewis

            The Ashland University baseball team posted its third win of the season on Monday (May. 5) as it turned back Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Lewis, 7-3 in Auburndale, Fla.

            Freshman infielder Giancarlo Saia (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) swatted three singles and drove in three runs.  Junior first baseman Austin Erb (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) was 3-for-4 and drove in a run and freshman infielder Kyle Vozar (Hickley, Ohio/Medina Highlands) was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

            The winning pitcher was junior right-hander Brad Thomas (Orrville, Ohio).  Junior Shayne Herold (LeRoy, N.Y./Genessee C.C.) earned the save.

            Ashland, now 3-1, plays West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday (Mar. 6).
